Dear Kobe: A song in 8 * 24

Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest, most popular, and most intriuging basketball players of All Time announced his retirement at the end of this NBA season a few days ago, via a poem entitled ‘Dear Basketball’ on The Players Tribune.

Here is my song for Kobe - on SportsKeeda.

  1. do u think players themselves wrote the articles on the players' tribune or is it then send to their pr team and then published?

    1. I think they are "as told to" articles... The players probably give the crux of their message to a writer, who then crafts it out for them.
In Kobe's case, I think he may have actually written that poem - after all, he did have a short-lived rap career!

  2. ohh! yeah i thought they wouldn't write the articles word to word by themselves. Kobe's an exception though (and at almost everything else he does!). His mentality, drive and dedication set him apart from the rest, besides his skill. Thats what makes Kobe lethal. But man i was hoping players would write it themselves! It would feel so good knowing I'm reading what a nba superstar actually wrote THEMSELVES!

    1. Not surprised that the players don't write it themselves... Just like you can't expect a good journalist to play in the NBA, it's tough to expect an NBA player to be a good writer!
